Kepala Pusat Data Informasi dan Komunikasi Kebencanaan BNPB, Abdul Muhari, mengajak seluruh daerah di Indonesia untuk segera menetapkan status kesiapsiagaan sesuai dengan kondisi daerah masing-masing. Hal ini dilakukan untuk mempermudah BNPB merespon dengan cepat ketika bencana terjadi, terutama bencana hidrometeorologi basah yang diprediksi terjadi pada November dan Desember. BNPB juga tengah melakukan mapping titik-titik daerah yang berpotensi terjadinya bencana, dan diharapkan Pemda tingkat kabupaten/kota dan provinsi juga melakukan hal yang sama. Dengan menetapkan status siaga darurat, daerah dapat menggunakan dana operasional untuk melakukan pendalaman alur, peninggian tanggul sungai, dan tindakan preventif lainnya. BNPB siap membantu daerah dalam menghadapi potensi bencana.

BNPB telah melakukan mapping titik-titik daerah yang berpotensi terjadinya bencana hidrometeorologi basah. Mapping ini dilakukan untuk mengantisipasi terjadinya bencana dan untuk mempersiapkan langkah-langkah mitigasi yang diperlukan. BNPB juga akan terus memantau perkembangan cuaca dan kondisi sungai untuk memberikan informasi terkini kepada masyarakat.

BNPB mengimbau masyarakat untuk tetap waspada dan siaga terhadap potensi bencana hidrometeorologi basah. Masyarakat diimbau untuk mengikuti perkembangan informasi cuaca dan peringatan dini dari BNPB. Masyarakat juga diimbau untuk melakukan langkah-langkah mitigasi yang diperlukan, seperti mengamankan barang-barang berharga dan menghindari daerah rawan banjir.
