Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi (Kemendikbudristek) tengah menguji coba sistem zonasi baru untuk Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB). Sistem zonasi baru ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan sistem PPDB yang lebih adil dan merata, serta memastikan bahwa semua siswa dapat mengakses pendidikan berkualitas.

Sistem zonasi baru ini mempertimbangkan empat faktor utama: pendidikan bermutu, inklusi sosial, integrasi sosial, dan kohesivitas sosial. Tujuannya adalah untuk menciptakan sistem PPDB yang lebih adil dan merata, serta memastikan bahwa semua siswa dapat mengakses pendidikan berkualitas.

Kemendikbudristek berharap bahwa dengan perbaikan sistem zonasi, siswa dapat belajar di sekolah yang dekat dengan rumah mereka, mengurangi segregasi sosial, dan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih inklusif. Perubahan ini diharapkan dapat diterapkan pada tahun ajaran 2025-2026.
