Wakil Menteri Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (P2MI), Christina Aryani, mengingatkan masyarakat untuk waspada terhadap modus penipuan iklan lowongan kerja (loker) yang marak di media sosial. Banyak anak muda tergiur dengan tawaran bekerja di luar negeri, seperti Thailand, dengan iming-iming gaji tinggi yang disebarluaskan melalui WhatsApp atau Telegram.

Modus ini melibatkan tawaran pekerjaan sebagai operator atau admin di Thailand dengan gaji besar, namun saat tiba di lokasi, pelamar justru dipaksa bekerja sebagai operator judi online atau pelaku penipuan daring (online scammer). Christina menyebutkan bahwa ini merupakan tren baru dalam kasus Tindak Pidana Perdagangan Orang (TPPO), di mana pelaku dipekerjakan untuk menipu orang lain melalui berbagai modus, seperti investasi palsu.

Untuk mencegah kasus serupa, Christina mengimbau masyarakat agar selalu memverifikasi keaslian iklan lowongan kerja di media sosial. Informasi tersebut dapat dikonfirmasi langsung ke Badan Pelayanan Perlindungan Pekerja Migran Indonesia (BP3MI) di masing-masing wilayah. Dengan bantuan petugas BP3MI, masyarakat dapat memastikan legalitas lowongan kerja tersebut sebelum mengambil keputusan.
